Prime Minister of Iraq to Egypt

Iraq's Prime Minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, arrived in Egypt on Friday for his first visit to Iraq since taking office.


An Iraqi government source revealed that Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi headed to the Egyptian capital Cairo at the head of a high-level government delegation on his first foreign visit since taking office at the formal invitation.

it pointed out that "Abdul Mahdi will discuss with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Prime Minister Mustafa Medboli ways to strengthen bilateral relations, especially in the economic issue, as well as the issue of intelligence cooperation in the war on terrorism.

The source suggested holding a tripartite summit between Abdul Mahdi and al-Sisi, King Abdullah II of Jordan, who is expected to visit Cairo during the presence of the Iraqi prime minister there.

Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency, Bassam Radi, said: "Mr. President receives this morning at Etihadiya Palace Mr. Adel Abdul Mahdi, Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq."
