​​​​​​​PYD: Occupation of Afrin is continuous the massacres against the Kurds

Democratic Union Party, PYD, saluted the steadfastness of the forcibly Afrin IDPs and stressed that "liberating Afrin and our other occupied areas is one of our top priorities and strategies, and we will work on that with all our capabilities and energies."

The General Council of the Democratic Union Party, PYD, issued a written statement, coinciding with the anniversary of the start of the attacks of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries on Afrin.

The statement stated:

Afrin is entering its fourth year under the Turkish occupation and the mercenary terrorist factions supported by Turkey, in clear violation of Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, in accordance with the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, the 1907 Hague Convention, and all standards of international and humanitarian laws.

The statement added, "Due to external interventions and some internal parties, the war began on Afrin, and the Syrian geopolitical map was dominated by plots and conspiracies, and the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries loyal to it, which adopt the approach of terrorism, committed grave violations and systematic war crimes against civilians, and among those violations is changing the demographic and demographic nature. to the region, changing the names of villages and regions and spreading terror and fear among the population to push them to flee along with ethnic cleansing, identity-based killings, targeting of civilians, incidents of rape and theft, imposing financial royalties on civilians and their lands, stealing their agricultural crops, and kidnappings for ransom.

We affirm that the Turkish occupation always constitutes an obstacle to all stability, opposes solutions and consensus, and stands against all democratic projects, especially the democratic project led by our people in north and east Syria and is considered the best model for a solution in Syria and the region in general.

The statement noted that "the perpetuation of the Turkish occupation poses a danger to all the Syrian people without discrimination, and none of the Syrians has an interest in that, and our belief in the unity of the Syrian territories and our duty to preserve its unity prompts us to call upon all the effective national forces in Syria to agree among themselves, unify their efforts and start a serious dialogue." and transparent to provide an appropriate ground for coexistence and work to end the occupation and defeat all forms of terrorism from Syria.

In its statement, the General Council of the Democratic Union Party called "the United Nations, human rights organizations and all countries of the world to stay away from the silence that is no longer useful about what is being subjected to Afrin and the rest of the occupied territories and to carry out its humanitarian duty towards the peoples. We warn of the dangers of deals concluded by some parties with Turkey, which at the expense of the Syrians themselves.”

It also saluted "the steadfastness and resistance of our forcibly IDPs from Afrin and its regions, and we assure them that liberating Afrin and our other occupied areas is one of our top priorities and strategies, and we will work on that with all our capabilities and energies."
