Sabri Mustafa: We appeal to humanitarian organizations to support GIRÊ SPî displaced

Sabri Mustafa, Vice co-chair of GIRÊ SPî Canton Council, appealed to international humanitarian organizations to provide aid to the displaced people of GIRÊ SPî who were forcibly displaced from their homes as a result of the Turkish aggression.

 Thousands of families have been displaced from the city of GIRÊ SPî and its villages as a result of the Turkish aggression on the region. Where Turkey shelled their villages and homes indiscriminately without discrimination between civil and soldier, forcing thousands of families to move towards the southern safe areas, but now they are living without shelter while winter is approaching.

Some of the displaced people live in the villages of al-Jalabiya, southeast of Kobani, and others in the villages of Ain Issa, al-Raqqa, its countryside and al-Tabqa.

Sabri Mustafa, Vice co-chair of of GIRÊ SPî Canton Council, said that" Refugees are living in deplorable situation, especially children and the elderly due to the cold weather and lack of basic necessities, especially food."

Sabri revealed the presence of 40,000 displaced people in the city of al-Raqqa alone, according to statistic conducted by them, and said that displaced living in semi- destroyed houses which had been damaged by the battles to liberate the city from ISIS.

"We are in the process of building a camp for IDPs in GIRÊ SPî district in coordination with the Autonomous Administration in North and East of Syria in the countryside of the town of Tal al - Saman, but as a result of the conditions of war and siege, there is insufficient means to provide assistance and support for the displaced."
