SDF reveals the outcome of the Turkish occupation attacks within two days

The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces revealed the outcome of the Turkish occupation army attacks on north and northeast Syria during the 9 and 10 October.

The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces issued a statement to the public opinion, disclosing the outcome of the Turkish occupation attacks during the 9th and 10th of October.

It states:

On 16 October 2019, the Turkish invasion began its aggression against Rojava and northern Syria.

This aggressive invasion included all the cities of Rojava and northern Syria, starting from Dêrik to the east, Qamishlo, Amuda, Darbasiyah, Ras al-Ain, Tal Abyad, Kobani and Ain Issa with their entire countryside. Areas were shelled with heavy artillery and rockets, coincided with the intensive flight of reconnaissance aircraft around the clock on the entire border strip.

In the meantime, the Turkish invasion army targeted Ras al-Ain, Tal Abyad, Kobani, and Darbasiyah by land in an attempt to land incursions in order to occupy these cities. Koltab, Ashma, Tel Fender, Yabsa, and other villages were shelled with hundreds of shells and raids.

Our forces responded to the infiltration attempts on the village of Ashmeh on the evening of (9 October), also the villages of Kultb, Tel Fender attacked the ground and air fierce, which was aimed at besieging the city of Tel Abyad, where coincided with a fierce ground and air attack on the axis of the town of Suluk east of Tel Abyad for the same target.

Our forces bravely confronted all these attacks in all axes and counted the deaths of more than 40 Turkish soldiers and mercenaries. Our forces were able to destroy an enemy tank and an armored personnel carrier on the Tel Fender axis.

During these clashes, in which our forces responded to the Turkish invasion, six of our fighters were martyred.

On October 10, clashes continued on the Tal Abyad / Suluk axis, and from very close distances, clashes between this axis and Kobani resulted in the killing of 52 Turkish soldiers and mercenaries.

On the Ras al-Ain axis, Darbasiyah and Derik, indiscriminate shelling of various types of heavy weapons and shells continued, and the village of Tal Halaf was subjected to the most heavy shelling with heavy weapons on October 9, coinciding with an ongoing ground incursion on Tal Allaf, Ras Al-Ain, Alouk village, Al-Darbasiyah, our forces confronted them directly and responded to them, as a mercenary cell appeared in the village of Al-Tuwaimiya south of Ras Al-Ain and our forces clashed with them and eliminated them. During the continuous clashes over the past two day in these axes, 170 elements of the invading forces were confirmed to be killed, while (16) fighters from our forces rose to the rank of martyrdom.

In the past two days, the densely populated cities of Amuda and Qamishlo came under the heaviest indiscriminate shelling with artillery and shells and indiscriminately targeted neighborhoods and streets, resulting in numerous civilian casualties, including children and women.

On the axis of the city of Dêrik, a Turkish tank tried to cross the border and was targeted by our troops and was completely destroyed and its occupants killed.

The final outcome of the two-day clashes is the killing of 262 members of the invading forces, including Turkish soldiers, and 22 of our fighters, while many civilian casualties, including children and women, will be officially documented through the relevant institutions.
