The General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces issued a written statement to the public opinion and asserted that Turkey was violating the ceasefire and deliberately increasing the humanitarian disaster.
The General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces said during the statement that the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries had launched 108 attacks since the ceasefire, had bombed 82 positions with drones, and shelled with heavy artillery 110 other locations outside the military operations zone agreed on.
The statement included,
“The Turkish state, its army and armed factions did not abide by the ceasefire made between them and the United States of America in consultation with the Syrian Democratic Forces on 17 October despite our forces fulfillment of all obligations prescribed in that agreement.
Turkey has continued to violate the cease-fire, deliberately increased the humanitarian catastrophe, continues to occupy the Syrian territory outside the zone of military operations agreed upon in Ras al-Ain, Tel Abyad, and Tel Tamr, displaced and killed their inhabitants despite the withdrawal of our troops.
Since the day of the ceasefire, the Turkish state has occupied a geographical area of 1100 km2 comprising 56 villages, in addition to many hamlets in the north of Ain Issa town, east of Kobane city, east of Ras al-Ain and northwest of Tel Tamr.
The Turkish state and its factions, through their repeated violations since the day of their declaration of a ceasefire, caused the displacement of approximately 30,000 civilians, in addition to martyring and injuring dozens of them.
The Turkish state and its armed factions have launched 108 ground assaults since the ceasefire, and their armed drones have bombed 82 positions, while their heavy artillery bombed 110 other locations outside the agreed military operations zone. All these attacks resulted in martyring 182 of our troops and injuring 243.
The Turkish state and its armed factions are trying to mislead the public opinion through lies and promoting that they are committed to the ceasefire agreement, while they continue to occupy more Syrian territory.
We have agreed to the terms of the ceasefire with American guarantees and mediation. The US should assume its responsibilities as guarantor and give a convincing answer and a clear position on all these violations practiced by the Turkish state and its armed factions and to be fair and just in its positions.
