Syrian regime rejects US-Turkish agreement on buffer zone

The official SANA news agency quoted an official source at the Syrian Foreign Ministry as saying that the regime "categorically and completely rejects" the agreement announced by the United States and Turkey regarding the so-called "buffer zone" in north and east of Syria.

The source considered that the agreement "constitutes a flagrant attack on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and a flagrant violation of the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations."

The source appealed to "the international community and the United Nations to condemn the blatant US-Turkish aggression, which constitutes a serious escalation and a threat to peace and stability in the region and the world and topple all efforts to find a way out of the crisis in Syria."
