The Rojava Revolution, which spent its ten years under attacks and threats, has reached a critical stage. Its existence has become an international issue. On the other hand, there is the issue of threats to the Turkish state that must be resolved. Regardless of the importance of all attempts, there is no other way than to fight, as a great resistance must be waged, because the basis of this issue is the existence of Kurdish gains. And because the Turkish regime bases its existence on the extermination of the Kurds, nothing but resistance and victory can achieve the desired result, and anything else will only prolong this stage. To the extent that the inculcated values are reinforced, there is a need to preserve them for the sake of a lasting system.
The evolution of the form and status of the Rojava Revolution and the results it achieved is a model for the human revolution in the 21st century. The process that advanced under the leadership of the Kurdish people raised the slogan “There is another life possible outside the usual life” in the face of tyranny and shed light on it before the peoples of North and East Syria first and then before the Middle East whole.
Only the Kurdish liberation movement has correctly understood the process called the “Arab Spring” that created chaos in Syria. Because of the good relationship with the liberation movement and leader Abdullah Ocalan, the people of Rojava organized themselves with limited capabilities and within a short period of time protected themselves from this chaos. He insisted on pressing them to stand aside. However, the people of Rojava resisted all these pressures and found that the supporters who were presented as an alternative offer nothing to the people but helplessness. So they presented themselves as the force of the solution.
This process, which began in Kobani, launched the patriarchal leadership step as an initiative. The circles of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Syrian Kurdish National Council tended to partner with the mercenaries who are not committed to any principle and who are good for exploitation, called the "Free Army". They were preparing to attack Kobani with the mercenaries after Friday prayers. A day earlier, on the 19th of July, on Thursday, they took control of all state institutions, and the de-facto state of the revolution began. After that, a great struggle spread in Rojava, NE, Syria.
This form of development surprised parties that had regional accounts and made their accounts fail. On the one hand; The revolution led by the Kurdish people, the oldest people in the Middle East, who did not recognize their existence, proved the reality of the leadership people with dynamic articles and the Kurdish people were dealt with as a threat to the political entity of the region. On the other hand, the struggle against ISIS has demonstrated how powerful it is in practice, which is why it has attracted the attention of the dominant powers. This is what prompted the Turkish state and the reactionary forces to develop more hostile policies and develop different relations on the international scene for the Kurds, and provided opportunities for the Kurdish liberation movement and gave it space.
The hegemonic powers, policies that regard this struggle against ISIS/Daesh only, insisted on constraining it and maintaining an entity that would keep it under constant pressure. Most importantly, the patriarchal model that is the main driver of this structure has not been seen or recognized by these policies. The main mistake is to see the PKK’s cadres only as fighters. In fact, this structure that first fought ISIS/ Daesh and then the Turkish state and its mercenaries during the past ten years established a social structure at the same time.
This structure takes the freedom of women as a basis and builds society on this and pushes women in life forward, as it is sensitive towards nature and society, it opens the fields of life for beliefs in order to build a democratic and collective model that includes all the cells of society through councils and show it as a model for a solution.
The areas administered by the Autonomous Administration have become the most democratic, stable and prosperous region in Syria in the face of siege, attacks and instability. We believe that the gains that have been achieved during the last ten years are the reason for these attacks.
The experience of the Republic of Kurdistan, which lasted for a short period (11 months), left deep traces in the memory of the Kurds. The Rojava Revolution over the past ten years has given hundreds of thousands of children the opportunity to learn in their mother tongue. They have built generations who have learned in their mother tongue. Thanks to social institutions, they built mechanisms to solve all the problems and needs of society. They also established in the region a system through which all races and beliefs could express themselves freely, in addition to establishing a culture of collective and participatory management through councils and communes. More importantly, women have become key actors. They have reconstructed life from the perspective of women's freedom by involving them in all fields, starting with the military and internal security, passing through the economic field and even the health field, and they have found important ways in terms of changing the mentality of male authoritarian.”
In short, the Kurdistan Liberation Movement in Rojava not only fought against ISIS and the Turkish state, but at the same time built a new model of life in the region. The Rojava revolution became a popular revolution. Despite all the shortcomings, the Rojava revolution will maintain itself as a glorious product of the Kurdistan liberation movement and succeed in permanence.
Therefore, as Martyr Çiyager said: "No matter what happens, the Rojava revolution will be a glorious end."
