Trump held bilateral meetings on margin of G-20 summit

US President Donald Trump will meet with world leaders on the margin of the G-20 summit in Japan this week, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to discuss tensions with Iran and the files of Ukraine, Syria and the Middle East.

US President Donald Trump will meet with world leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman, a senior US official told AFP.

The list also includes Indian Prime Minister Narendra Moody, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

The talks are holding between Trump and the Saudi crown prince on the impact of escalating tensions between the United States and Iran.

On the other hand, the meeting with the Chinese president is expected to be held on Saturday, the second day of the summit to be held in Osaka. The meeting is of great importance as both sides try to reach a trade agreement.

The US official said Trump would probably discuss with Putin the growing tension between the United States and Iran, as well as the files of Ukraine, the Middle East and Syria.

After the G-20 summit, the US president heads to Seoul.
