To highlight more on the outcome of the fires in Tel-Tamr district and its surrounding, on the Turkish occupation crimes against defenseless civilians and targeting their livelihood, Hawar news agency ANHA interviewed with vice co-chair of People's Municipality in Tel-Tamr district, Radwan Khalaf.
Radwan Khalaf, at the beginning, spoke about the outcome of fires in the district, saying, "As a result of the fires that broke out in agricultural lands, and as an estimated statistic of the People's Municipality in Tal-Tamr district, the burned area was more than 4,000 dunums in 23 villages out of 800 thousand dunums within the boundaries of the Tel Tamr district."
Hundreds of acres were burned due to the Turkish occupation of the seam lines
Khalaf pointed out that the fabricated fires in vast areas of agricultural lands, which were estimated at hundreds of acres in the villages along the seam lines in the countryside of Tel Tamr, are instructions from the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, as they were deliberately setting fire to agricultural crops, in addition to firing incendiary bullets towards crops, and at times they bombed villages, which burned large areas of agricultural land.
More than 50 thousand acres under occupation control and almost daily fires since the beginning of the harvest
Khalaf indicated that the total area of agricultural lands that follow the boundaries of Tal Tamr, which are under the control of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, is more than 50 thousand dunums, and with the beginning of the harvest season, mercenary factions began setting fire to them almost daily.
He continued, "The fires in the villages that are under the control of the Turkish occupation have caused great damage to the defenseless civilians, as they are the source of their livelihood."
Direct targeting of fire brigade and civilians while trying to put out the fire
In every attempt by the fire brigades in the Tal Tamr district to put out the fires, they were targeted by the Turkish occupation gun and artillery and the "Syrian National Army" mercenaries, and prevented their arrival, which caused the burning of vast areas.
Radwan Khalaf says, "The People's Municipality and the fire brigades were unable to intervene to extinguish the fires caused by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, due to their direct targeting with live bullets, in addition to targeting unarmed civilians and preventing them from extinguishing the fire."
Khalaf pointed out that the goal of the Turkish occupation of not allowing firefighters to put out the fire is to weaken civilians, displace them from their areas and expand the areas of its occupation.
Civilian homes were also affected by fires
The fires on the seam lines have caused great damage to civilians' property, and the villages that are under the control of mercenary factions have been severely damaged, through the expansion of fires into the villages and the burning of a large number of civilians' homes, in addition to burning the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries deliberately civilians' homes.
