Assistant Secretary of State for Political and Military Affairs Clark Cooper said: "Time is running out to address this issue," according to Emirati newspaper The National.

And we will impose US sanctions on Turkey, in response to its purchase of the Russian missile system under the Anti-American Adversaries through Sanctions Act, CAATSA, which aims to deter any party intending to purchase Russian-made missiles.

Cooper told the National newspaper: Turkey has a narrow window to address this issue.

Cooper said: "We immediately removed Turkey from the joint manufacturing program of the F-35 and also made its membership of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in doubt.
