Women's Council in NE Syria: Kobane resistance was affirmation of women's revolution

The Women's Council in North and East Syria recalled the memory of the liberation of Kobane, and said: "We bow to the souls of the martyrs, as the pure blood mixed on the land of Kobane, and it was a confirmation of the women's revolution, their refusal to return to the dark ages that the terrorist organization and its supporters wanted to revive."

This came through a statement issued by the Women's Council in North and East Syria on the occasion of the anniversary of the Kobane liberation from ISIS mercenaries, and it said in its statement:

"The victory on 26-01-2015 in Kobane against ISIS was not an ordinary victory. It was a revolution in the face of tyranny and darkness when the people said their decisive word against the most monstrous global terrorist organization "ISIS."

After a heroic resistance that lasted for months, the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) and the People's Protection Units (YPG) were able to defeat this terrorist organization, the throne of the alleged caliphate in Raqqa was shaken, and it was the beginning of its end.

Our heroic forces have resisted with faith and persistence the attempts of the obscurantist  organizations supported by Turkey, the official sponsor of global terrorism to occupy Kobane, a legendary resistance that amazed the world and pushed it to quickly help these forces, and it was the beginning of the entry of the international coalition forces against terrorism into the regions of north and east Syria.

We, in the Women's Council in North and East Syria, remember this day with pride, we bow to the souls of the martyrs, as the pure blood mixed on the land of Kobane and it was a confirmation of the women's revolution and their refusal to return to the dark ages that the terrorist organization and its supporters wanted to return to, and that the Women Protection Units that fought ISIS terrorist organization and defeated it defended all humanity, especially women, as the hills of Mashta Noor are still a living witness to the great sacrifices of the martyr Arin Mirkan and her comrades in defense of all peoples and components in north and east Syria against terrorism, and the international community owes these sacrifices to stand against the continued threats, especially by the Turkish occupation and its systematic violations against the peoples of north and east Syria.

The Women's Protection Units, with a deep belief in themselves and in the human values they adopted in protecting women and society, defeated this organization, and it was the beginning of its military defeat in many parts of the world, especially Syria, but ISIS with its ideology is still trying to rise again through its cells that are active in the regions of north and east Syria. This calls for us to stand together to be an impenetrable block in the face of its return and its threat to our regions, in addition to its attempt to abort the democratic project of Democratic Autonomous Administration that expresses the free will of the peoples and components of north and east Syria and eliminate the gains achieved by the women who lead this project well.

Glory and eternity to the martyrs of freedom and dignity

Long live the resistance of Kobane

Shame fir terrorism in all its names."
