Younes: Security Council, UN must move to end Turkish occupation

Talat Younes in the demonstration called on the Security Council and the United Nations to act to stop the Turkish violations against the people of Afrin, and to end the Turkish occupation of Afrin, to hold Turkey accountable for the violations committed in Afrin, to distance itself from international interests and to consider the humanitarian situation and assume its responsibilities.

Today, a crowd of people from the Amouda district of Qamishlo canton took part in a mass demonstration on the first anniversary of the Turkish occupation of Afrin canton, in which representatives and members of civil society organizations, political figures in the region, fighters of the People's and Women's Protection Units participated.

The demonstrators marched in the center of the youth center, holding the olive branches, which is a symbol of Afrin canton and a symbol of peace. The banners denounce the Turkish occupation, which reads: "We reject the Turkish Occupation", "Resistance of the Age will Triumph Against the Occupation. And the pictures of victims of the massacres committed by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries against Afrin children and women."

The co-chair of the Executive Council in al-Jazeera Region Talat Younes demanded the Security Council and the United Nations to move to stop the Turkish violations against the people of Afrin, and hold Turkey accountable for the violations committed in Afrin, to enable the people of Afrin to return to their homes, and he demanded the UN to consider the humanitarian situation and assume its responsibilities.
