Hasakah Governor Nour al-Din Ahmed called for protests to remain peaceful and urged people to avoid vandalism and confrontations. He stressed that expressing opinions and demanding rights are legitimate freedoms guaranteed by law.

In a post on the X platform, Ahmed said: “I address you today with a deep concern for the security and safety of each and every one of you, as well as the security of our homeland. Expressing opinions and demanding rights are legitimate freedoms guaranteed by law, and we listen to your voices with respect and appreciation.

For your voices to remain heard and strong, we must all ensure that these protests remain peaceful. Vandalizing property or engaging in confrontations does not serve your cause. Instead, it distracts attention from your legitimate demands and undermines community security.

I urge all of you, especially young people, to exercise reason and restraint. Security personnel are your sons and brothers, and it is their duty to protect you and safeguard public facilities. Let us stand together to prevent any party from exploiting your feelings to drag the country into chaos or violence.”
