Ilham Ahmed receives delegation from municipalities of N. Kurdistan

Kurdish politician Ilham Ahmed, accompanied by Roshan Hassan, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee in Rojava, received a delegation from Northern Kurdistan that included representatives of local administration councils and municipalities affiliated with the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party).

The delegation from Northern Kurdistan includes the co-mayor of Mardin Municipality; Devrim Demir, co-spokesperson of the Local Administrations’ Diplomacy Committee; Safiye Akdağ, co-mayor of the Yenişehir district municipality in Amed Province; Sevim Biciçi, co-mayor of the Farqin district municipality in Amed Province; Belkıza Beştaş Ebuzdemir, co-mayor of Tatvan Municipality; and Ruken Demirer, a member of the Diplomacy Committee.

Ilham Ahmed and Roshan Hassan received the delegation at the Foreign Relations Building in Qamishlo, after which the two sides held a closed-door meeting.

Following the meeting, the Northern Kurdistan delegation is scheduled to travel to the Qamishlo District Directorate to meet with District Director Cihan Hossam. A joint press conference is expected to follow the meeting.
