Israeli forces have resumed excavation and construction work west of al-Asha village in the southern Quneitra countryside, as part of what is known as the “Sufa 53” line, according to local sources.

Israeli military vehicles entered the area and began digging trenches and constructing earth berms as part of work related to the military project, which includes a fortified road and observation posts extending along the separation line as far as the town of Hader and the slopes of Mount Hermon.

Israel began implementing the “Sufa 53” project, also known as the “Great Storm”, in the Quneitra countryside in 2022. The project includes constructing a military road inside Syrian territory along the occupied Golan Heights, as well as establishing fortifications and observation posts.
