Syrian Presidential Adviser Mazloum Abdi today mourned the nine victims from Kobani who lost their lives during the “mutiny” at the city’s prison, extending his condolences to their families and the residents of the city.

In a post on the X platform, Abdi said that the relevant authorities had begun a comprehensive and transparent investigation to uncover the circumstances of the incident and hold those responsible accountable, stressing that the findings of the investigation would be announced clearly and transparently.

He stressed that preventing similar incidents from recurring requires strengthening the role of judicial and security institutions and enhancing coordination between them in a manner that upholds the rule of law, protects the rights of civilians and prisoners, and safeguards the security and stability of Kobani.
