Syrian presidential adviser Mazloum Abdi met with residents of Rimelan and Garkê Legê to discuss the latest political developments and progress in the integration process, as well as issues concerning missing persons and the return of displaced people to their areas.

During the meeting, Abdi reviewed progress on several integration files, particularly education, universities and security. He stressed that efforts to consolidate the understandings reached by the relevant committees were continuing.

He noted that Hasakah Governorate is administered with the participation of all its components, emphasizing that its residents are the most committed to making it a model of coexistence and shared governance among Syrians.

Abdi said that those who had sought to obstruct and derail the integration process had failed, adding that work was continuing to complete it. He stressed that Kurdish unity and solidarity among the different components were essential to the success of the process and to strengthening and protecting the gains achieved.

He explained that the Kurdish issue had entered state institutions with a clear will and identity, adding that the state recognized that Syria’s stability could not be achieved without Kurdish participation. He noted that Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs and Armenians living side by side strengthened the commitment to coexistence and supported the country’s stability.

On missing persons, Abdi said the relevant committee was intensifying its efforts to determine their fate and establish their whereabouts. He also noted that work was continuing in coordination with the relevant committees to ensure the safe and dignified return of displaced people to their areas.

On the issue of the Arab Belt, Abdi said it was a matter of rights and that efforts were underway to resolve it within the framework of the law.
