North Kurdistan delegation meets Hasakah governor

The delegation of women mayors from North Kurdistan met with Hasakah Governor Engineer Nour al-Din Issa Ahmed at the governorate building in the city of Hasakah as part of the delegation’s ongoing visit to the region.

Hasakah Governor Engineer Nour al-Din Ahmed received a delegation of female mayors from North Kurdistan today at the governorate building in the city of Hasakah. The delegation is continuing its current visit to the region.

The delegation was welcomed by the governor, alongside Khaled Ibrahim, a member of the Executive Committee, and engineer Nawara Sabri from the Telecommunications Directorate. The two sides held a closed-door meeting, away from the media, to discuss issues of mutual interest.

The visiting delegation included several prominent women leaders and local administration officials from North Kurdistan: Devrim Demir, co-mayor of Mardin Metropolitan Municipality and co-spokesperson for the Local Administrations Diplomacy Committee; Safiye Akdağ, co-mayor of Yenişehir Municipality in Amed; Sevim Bejiji, co-mayor of Farqin Municipality in Amed; Belkiza Beştaş Ebuzdemir, co-mayor of Tetwan Municipality; and Ruken Demir, a member of the Diplomacy Committee.

The visit comes as part of the delegation’s ongoing diplomatic meetings in the region, aimed at strengthening relations, gaining insight into local administration and conditions, and supporting the region’s municipalities.
