Around 25 families from Said al-Darbo village in the countryside of Serêkaniyê are waiting to return to their homes and lands, as Turkish forces continue to control the village and prevent residents from entering or approaching it.

After returning from displacement camps in the hope of reclaiming their homes and rebuilding their lives, the villagers found themselves forced to set up their tents again on the outskirts of their village, bringing renewed attention to the suffering of displaced people, which has continued to affect the residents of Serêkaniyê for years.

Residents say that being prevented from reaching their homes and lands has forced them to live in tents they erected near the village, unable to resume their normal lives or reclaim their property, despite being so close to their homes.

The residents of Said al-Darbo are calling on the relevant authorities to intervene and take steps to secure their return to their homes and village, particularly as winter approaches. They stress that remaining in tents is worsening their suffering, after they left displacement camps in the hope of returning to their villages and homes.
