Passenger and commercial truck traffic resumed on Wednesday at the Nassib border crossing with Jordan following a temporary closure prompted by developments on the ground in Daraa province, according to the General Authority for Ports and Customs.

The authority said cross-border traffic had returned to normal in both directions, adding that staff had resumed providing services as usual.

Nassib, opposite the Jaber crossing on the Jordanian side, is one of the main border crossings between Syria and Jordan. It serves as a key route for passenger traffic, trade and freight transport between the two countries, as well as an important corridor for land transport in the region.

Syria had closed the Nassib border crossing in both directions following Jordanian airstrikes targeting sites in southern Syria that left Syrians dead and injured.
